Beware of Fraudulent Emails Misusing the PETILLION Brand
What’s Happening:
Cybercriminals are impersonating the PETILLION firm in a phishing campaign. These fraudulent emails aim to:
- Trick recipients into making undue payments for false copyright claims.
- Request sensitive information.
- Persuade recipients to click on malicious links or download harmful attachments.
These emails may appear legitimate, featuring our logo, branding, a link to our official website, or an “@petillion.law” email address in the body of the email, but they do not originate from PETILLION.
What You Should Do:
- Verify the Sender: Ensure the email comes from a PETILLION lawyer listed on our website. Legitimate emails will always use our official domain name in the .law domain: @petillion.law.
- Avoid Clicking Suspicious Links: Do not click on links or download attachments from emails that seem unusual or unexpected.
- Report Suspicious Emails: Forward any questionable emails to the Centre for Cybersecurity at suspicious@safeonweb.be for verification.
- Stay Secure: Keep your security software updated and stay informed about common phishing tactics.
- Recognising Genuine PETILLION Communications: Authentic requests from PETILLION will be clear, well-reasoned, and aligned with ongoing matters.
Our Commitment:
PETILLION takes this issue seriously. Although our systems were not breached, we are actively enhancing our security measures and collaborating with relevant authorities to combat this phishing campaign.
